I Brought this computer about 6 months ago for Video editing and Photography but i also use for gaming. I have been having issues with FPS in games and really don't understand why i have spent a lot of money on it.

I Have done multiple benchmarks - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 video card benchmark result - Intel Core i9-10980XE Extreme Edition Processor,ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. ROG STRIX X299-E GAMING II (3dmark.com)

why am i getting a below average score ?

I just about understand the basics about the components but not in depth. I have enabled xmp for my ram., my drivers are up to date the same as my windows 11. is there something else i need to change in my bios maybe?

My GeForce experience obviously tells me what i should have my games optimized settings set at but for example - i am having to run Fortnite on Low everything just to get a steady 140fps when GeForce recommends Ultra on everything. The same goes for may other games like Overwatch which i have to run Medium just to get a steady 120 frames. the same for battlefield 2042 etc . Even then so with these settings on theses games i still get fame drop where it will randomly drop below 60fps and get a jitter.

I can provide any more details you may need to help me, if you can it would be much appreciated .

Because you are using a 10980XE thats not designed for gaming, its designed for workstation use. Not sure why you thought it would be a stellar performer for gaming. Its a mixture of things but that would be one of the reasons, among other potentials.

Other then that you always pretty much have to adjust settings in games to get them to perform optimally. Make sure RTX crap isnt turned on in most of the titles, and check specific Settings and drivers to make sure there arent issues.

Most people running hardware like yours have overclocked their CPU and GPU by a considerable margin, bringing the average score for that hardware up higher than it would be if everyone ran their hardware at stock speeds.
