Where should I start

Hello guys,

I would like to get better quality headphones than I currently use (g435).

My issue is, that I can't tell the difference between headphones by reading the specs, and I'm not familiar with the quality brands.

I would be also ready to spend for a sound card, but not that is yet an other area I know nothing about.

Do you have any recommendation, on where can I learn more about this topic?

Or what kinde of setup are you currently using, and what are your experiences with it?

Thanks,
ponger

I don't know enough about audio hardware to help too much but I can address some of your questions.

I think this is normal. It's hard to convey information about how something sounds over the Internet.

Wirecutter is my favorite starting point for a lot of stuff. Maybe start there!

Others feel free to correct me, but I don't think it's super normal to get a sound card in a PC build these days. At least not unless you know you want/need one for some reason.

I have a  Sennheiser Game One headset. Had it for many years now. Great quality, ear pads are detachable for the occasional cleaning, the red and white matches my PC build and decor around it. My favorite part about it is that it's open-back, which means the cups aren't fully closed. Air and sounds can pass through to your ears. So they don't completely isolate you from the environment. I can "hear" my room, echoes, my own voice etc. It just feels comfortable for long periods of time. Some people prefer closed back headphones.
