Im looking for an upgrade on my PC, 
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
MOBO: Asus ROG Strix B550-f Gaming
RAM: 4x 8gb Corsair vengeance RS
Storage: 1TB Samsung 980 Pro
Psu: Corsair RM650x
CPU cooler: Asus TUF Gaming LC240 ARGB
GPU: Asus rtx 2060 dual
As I said, im looking for an upgrade. Was thinking a GPU upgrade, the GPU that I would upgrade too needs to be able to run 3 1080P monitors.

a GPU upgrade is definitely what will be the most beneficial.  Go get the best GPU you can for the money I guess. Maybe a 3060ti?  My knowledge on the australian currency is limited.

If you game on 1080p, that CPU bottlenecks anything above an RTX 3060 or a Radeon RX 6600 on that resolution.

How about a 1440p monitor first?

How about a 1440p monitor first?

ye but then I need to buy new monitors. I dont wanna do that, I will eventually upgrade my CPU. Not everything can happen at once!

Why monitors? You need a single 1440p, the other 2 can stay 1080p, nothing bad with that.

ok, but I will be using the three monitors for sim racing. So are you saying go get an AMD GPU? Bare in mind that I will upgrade my CPU soon enough.

Have you considered a single ultrawide 1440 instead of 3 1080?

 

And yes, I am saying, with the current platform, AMD GPU-s are a better option to avoid bottlenecks.

 

And upgrading the CPU in your case would probably mean upgrading the MBO and probably even the RAM.

I could go to a r9 5900x and overclock my ram 3600 MHz. I would probably go AMD GPU then, but I do want to switch to intel in a coupla years. I dont want an ultrawide, I personally dont like them. With three monitors you can angle the monitors the way you want for better immersion and if there is a problem with one of the monitors you can just replace that one monitor instead of having to replace one expensive ultrawide.

With a 5900X you'd gain almost nothing for gaming, a bit above the 5600 and really nothing above a 5700x/5800x.

Eventually a 5800x3d would be an improvement for gaming, hut that is at this time, not in a few years.
