Full screen problems in BeamNG.Drive

So, I'm trying to play BeamNG in 1080p as my framerate is so much smoother. I choose the full screen option, and set my resolution to 1080p. If I Alt+Tab out, or open my windows start menu, it un full screens, which is fine. Its just that whenever I full screen it again, it goes back to the standard 1440p my monitor is running. Anyone have any ideas on how to force it to 1080p full screen?
