Pc-Build for gaming and programming

Davinho

Budget (including currency): Around 1500 Euro for PC only.

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming(Rainbow six, Hogwarts Legacy, Rocket League) no VR gaming, Programming(VSC, IntelliJ) no video editing

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Did a first build: https://geizhals.de/?cat=WL-2998713

Looking for any improvements or tips. Want to game on 1080 and 1440 depends on the game. Using 1 monitor but at the moment but planning to upgrade to a second.

Thanks in regards.

Unless you want to overclock/ tweak, you don't need a Z mobo. My son has the b660m and I have the h670 pro, both of which are perfectly fine, depending on how many extra slots and ports you really need.

You will want to check the base dimensions of that cooler to make sure it will fit properly - in not convince it will; I had to get the slim for my son.

I have the same PSU, which is very good.

If you want to save money, forego the RGB stuff and trade that for better parts. RGB only looks pretty and, best case, that's all you get. Worst case and you pay more for electricity and have somewhat decreased performance, depending on the design.

Given your use case, I would suggest an additional m.2 ssd. I filled up my 1tb in a few weeks, and I'm just a casual gamer. Install your games and other large programs to it.  If that puts you over budget,  get 16gb RAM, instead of 32.

Make sure to add case fans.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂
