faulty ram most likely, do you hear a beep code or see a light on your motherboard with your new ram? also try different slots

At which speed is your pc running your previous Ram ? it shouldn't be higher than 2666MHz

I'm willing to swim against the current.

So, you were hoping to run 3 sticks of Ram, 4+4+8 ? no, only two slots, so... 4+8 ?

I don't understand, it doesn't make much sense.

Anyway, did you try the 8Gb stick only, in both slots ?
