Been tooling and retooling this build for a while, and I think I'm finally happy with it. Just trying to build a rig that can play AAA games at high settings 1080p minimum, though I know benchmarks say this CPU/GPU combo can run Stray at 2K without dropping below 60fps, so I'm hoping to squeeze a bit more performance outta some other games, too. How'd I do? Planning on ordering the remaining parts later this week 😄 Always open to any recommendations anyone may have for squeezing every ounce of performance outta this, but I'm pretty happy with the current cost of everything and don't really wanna spend any more

You can enable sMART ACESS MEMORY, OR SAM, THAT WILL GIVE YOU CLOSE TO 10% more performance. on top that yiou can overclock gpu by a littlr, like 100mhz, then try some more. you will se a very big jump in performance

SAM is good, as is OCing the GPU. You wont see a very big jump in performance though.

Good build, but I would lose the HDD and go all SSD.  Even if you have to go cheap SATA.

Also, a 5600x doesn't need a max cooler like that.  I'd lower that budget item and put it toward something else, like more SSD.

Yeah I bought the cooler a few months ago when I thought I was gonna be going with an Intel build haha. And yeah I plan on going full SSD in the future. Harvested the drives from my dead laptop (HDMI port died, then I screwed up the screen. Replaced the screen but killed the backlight -_-) so I'm just using those for now to cut costs

1. Noctua Redux is good lineup for heatsinks, but their fans sucked in value when you can just buy their standard poo brown 120mm thatll last even longer for 7$ extra per fans. If you want bulk chassis fan, id just drop in the Arctic P12. But mind you that buying few quieter fans would yield you better noise level than just slapping more fans and running them all at lower RPM, so if your priorities is that, replace the fan in this build list with 3 piece of Noctua A12 series or Bequiet Pure Wings series if you wanna budget on it.

2. EVGA supernova at lower than plat is meh value overall nowadays especially when other better built PSU exists at lower cost.

3. RAM is everything to a ryzen, dont disrespect it by cheaping out on it.

So with that in mind and several money shifts later...

He didn't mark what he had already when we responded.   If the budget is $1000 less what he has, then your list is good.  If he wants it to be $100 including the value of what he already has, he needs to tweak the first listing.

Not sure I like the 6700xt to 6800 for an extra $140.  I think that money can be used elsewhere, especially at 1080p.

OP resolution is vague, so something that can accomodate 1440p and 4K better would be nicer. But yeah, if OP is at 1080p, id go for the 5800X3D and the same GPU as per OP's listing.

He mentions 2k, which I assume is 1920x1080. but who knows.

I wish people would stick to 1080p, 1440p, and 4k.  UHD and WUHD, and SUHD and 2K... bleh.
