Budget (including currency): $2,000 Max USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Escape from Tarkov, Grounded, Minecraft, 7 Days 2 Die, and others.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Already have the case and power supply from my previous PC. Motherboard is having issues in current PC and I'm tired of fighting it. Will be transferring the 2700x, 5700XT Red Devil, and RAM to a new board for my wife.

Really need someone to look this over and let me know if this is a decent setup or not or if I am overlooking something. I have a Microcenter local to me and I can get most of these parts for a few dollars cheaper there so I won't be ordering stuff in unless necessary.

Thank you!

For 2000 dollars I’d do a build more like this:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JDBYFg

If you want to drop the price of the build I put together you could get 1 tb of storage instead of 2, get 5600 mhz ram instead of 6000, or look into different power supply. This is just a rough estimate to give you an idea of the performance you could get with that amount of money. You could also consider going AMD on gpu.

My PC Specs: (expand to view)

Main Gaming Machine

CPU:  Intel Core i7-14700K
CPU Cooler: Deepcool LT720
Motherboard: MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6400

Storage 1: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB

Storage 2: Crucial P3 Plus 4 TB
Video Card: EVGA XC3 ULTRA GAMING GeForce RTX 3080 10GB

Power Supply: Corsair RM850 850W
Case: Corsair 7000D Airflow
Case Fan 140mm: Noctua A14 PWM 82.5 CFM 140 mm (x7)
Monitor Main: MSI G274QPF-QD 27.0" 2560 x 1440 170 Hz
Monitor Vertical: Asus VA27EHE 27.0" 1920x1080 75 Hz

I appreciate the feedback and build suggestion.

As I mentioned, I'm hoping to buy from my local Microcenter. I built out the below from what they have in stock today. Any issues with this? My biggest thing is the memory compatibility, I struggle understanding this aspect of PC building and thus constantly second guess my choices.

I would change the cooler to a twin tower thermal right pearless assasin is the same prize have similer perfomance to nhd15 or go with a liquid cooler bcz amd 7000 cpus really boost well when you throw thermal headroom to it.

Looks good man!  I am a pure gamer myself and I upgrade from a 9900k ( bit higher than 3700x ) to a 7700x and noticed a HUGE difference in stutter and hickups, because there are non!   Happy gaming with your new build 🙂
