GPU room

Dutch people!

Unless the card hits the side panel, there is PLENTY of room for air to move around the GPU, and AT LEAST decently cool your GPU.

Don't forget to hit that "solved" button!

How much room do i need for my gpu?

With my case i have 3 intake fans on the front, the 3rd one on the bottom would be perfectly aimed at the gpu, only thing is, the gpu will fit in the case, just very close to the fan (half a centimetre) is this bad?

i feel like it wouldnt matter with the fan there but theres not much airflow beside that, my case is designed where the bracket for the gpu is a bit inward, so there more room on the side panels for arflow and in the back so it can get to the fan there, in theory it should work well, but idk, what do you guys think?

Dont forget to mark as solution if your question is answered

There are MANY cases out there, with retarded airflow issues. Those cases are mainly designed for looks only. Without knowing your case, it might be one of them. (hard to envision your situation/too many words) What would be best for your GPU? Probably an open air test bench. And a shop fan pointing right at it. (might need a few bricks to hold the components in place at that point)

Anyways, worst case, it will thermal throttle in certain usecases. It's all up to you, what you consider acceptable. And what looks you're aiming for. (pictures might help others)

Unless your GPU is so tall that it almost hits the side panel, it should be considered "inside a big case". Air is pumped into this big case. Fans on the GPU should be able to breath well. Your concerns shouldn't be a concern. With pressure in the case (3x intake fans), air wants to escape trough any and all cracks. And your GPU fans happily will help with that.

As long as your GPU isn't physically hitting the front fans all is fine.  In the Sharkoon website, they say a GPU up to 31cm.   What GPU were you looking at?

Sidenote, from the case specs:

image.png.f04a938c893abccb20dd920b6389e246.png

First number is max card length using the (stock?) fans, which seem to be 2.5 cm thick. Second number is max card length, if you would remove the offending fan. Card seems to be 30.5 cm, so it should all fit just fine.

Yep, the card should fit without issue, and nice choice going with an RX 6700 XT, much better bang for buck card compared to the equally priced (or sometimes more expensive, depending on country and location) RTX 3060. Actually, why not an RX 6750 XT, at 20 (Euro?) more?
