Anyone think this home network block could be circumnavigated by changing your wifi name and password to the same as the "home" network ?

I imagine it's based on external IP.

Which begs the question: "What I want to watch Netflix on mobile data and at home?"

by changing your wifi name and password

Imagine if every app on your smart tv / phone, browser could just take a peek at your WiFi password... So no for the password part.
SSID maybe, I wouldn't be surprised if they also collect local IP addresses and subnets (to make it harder for people with VPN server setup on a different subnet to share their accounts that way).

PS Instead of posting just a screenshot, please also post links in the future:

Well that is going to be a PITA.

What about ISPs that only issue dynamic IPs

Oh I'm sorry, what about the many children who has divorced parents and live 50/50 (or any other arrangement) with each of them.

I am already paying for "Premium" so that all of us are able to watch at the same time, why should I pay even more?

You know what? The instance I get any of my devices blocked that doesn't just require me to login again as I usually would, I am done with Netflix.

Personally I barely use it anyway, so there's basically no loss for me, and we still have the numerous other streaming services at our hand.

If you travel and/or use the feature extensively, then yeah, it might be for sure which sucks. But I'm glad there's some sort of process to be able to continue to do so. That was my one and only concern really, about this lockdown. Otherwise, personally, the concept in principle is really pretty reasonable I think. I just didn't understand what it would mean for all the mobile apps. So this is nice. I'm just hoping it's a very quick, easy, one click-ish solution to enable this when needed.
