Question about RAM upgrade

Go to solution Solved by Budget DIY,

When picking memory, you will usually see the best performance, with faster memory. But performance is a combination between mhz and cl. Where most gains are usually gained trough faster memory (mhz). When 2400 mhz is your hard limit, look for a lower CL to get gains.

Got a laptop HP Pavilion Gameing 15-ec0xxx
Ryzen 5 3550H
GTX 1660TI Max-Q
RAM 2x4GB 2666hmz

SSD 512GB

CPU cant run ram faster then 2400Mhz

Simple question, should i get:
2x8GB 32000Mhz CL22 - $$$
2x8GB 2666Mhz CL19 - $$
2x8GB 2400Mhz CL17 - $

Money not the problem, but will i get any performance benefit if i get 3200hmz? or should i just not waste my money and buy 2400 or 2666?

EDIT: Cant turn on XMP in Bios there is no option.

Higher CL == bad. You want that as low as possible.

If your CPU max ram speeds are valid, go for the 2400 mhz memory.
