Anyone got any thoughts on this? I'm not buying it but a mate of mine is building a gaming pc n asked me to check his parts list n this was his selected psu, it ticks all the right boxes so I didn't mention anything about his psu but was wondering if anyone here has any experience with it?

That is not true. It will draw less from the wall when getting the same watts, but it won't have more.

more usable, also coolermaster fans have a issue with the fans going crazy, trust me, ive owned a lot in the past, its not a problem for me as i have music on 24/7 including when i sleep. however im a minority, people like silence and buy getting a 80+ gold psu that means that less energy will be wasted on heat output meaning the fan will not go as crazy. At any rate you save money, sorry if my wording is weird

5 year warranty for that price, sounds good to me.

The fan used in the G650M is the same Yateloon D12BH-12 as in the Corsair AX760i/860i, Antec Earthwatt Platinum, etc, and it's rather quiet at lower loads (it's not a semi-passive unit though).

It being a Bronze unit doesn't automatically make it have less useable power than a Gold unit; especially if you are comparing it to the FSP Aurum.

Anyways, while it isn't the best quality PSU, it's an good value PSU that's better than the Corsair CX600M in the same price range.
