Hello all,

I got free ram with my AMD 7950x. I already had DDR5 Ram, so now have the following sets.

2*32gb Corsair Vengeance 5600, 40-40-40-77

2*16gb GSkill Flare X5 6000, 30-38-38-96 (the free set).

Let's say I install it? Would both sets run at 5600, 40-40-40-77? Generally, is it a good idea to install mismatched sets? I planned on selling the free set, but it fetches under $100 on ebay, and after fees it has more value installed than sold.

Before you ask, I need a lot of ram. In my workflow, I often get into 40gb or more, and it doesn't get better year after year.

since you have it put it in your system and see if it plays nicely. Worse case its unstable and you remove it.

or doesnt boot at all.

If it runs, it would be 5600 40-40-40-96

No, especially on DDR5. It's very likely that it won't even turn on when in a mixed state.

Think you're looking at the CL36 kits rather than the CL30 kits. Just quick checking, the CL30 kits still relatively consistently go for $150, not under $100 like the CL36 kits do.

Exactly what I was afraid of.

Yeah, in this case selling it is the way to go.

Thank you all for for your replies!
