Budget (including currency): ideally idea $1000 for my low budget build but not willing to sacrifice performance

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: sneaker betting, War Zone, COD, Final Fantasy 14

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):I started off with PCs when I was younger in the days of pirating halo 1 and being able to play online. I've been a Mac + Parallels/Bootcamp user since around 2010. I've always wanted a PC again but could never really justify buying one because consoles work perfectly fine for their price and everything else I do on a computer works fine on a Mac but i'm older now and I don't care about justification.

None of that information was useful : )

for my first build I want to get the best 1080p gaming experience I can for around $1000 but I do not want a dramatically worse experience than my XBOX X & P5.

I will upgrade to a 3080ti if prices get any lower or I want a better gaming experience.

please tell em if you see anywhere I can save money without sacrificing performance or if I shouldn't get some of this stuff because its garbage and I should spend an extra $50-$100 or more

12600K - good chip, but I'd wait and see what a 13400 or 13500 will cost retail before buying.  (They have the same core count as yours, but are newer)

Note:  GTX 1660 TI - not RTX, it does NOT have RT Cores.

Board - fine

RAM:  Don't get LPX.  G.Skill or Geil, or other brands are the way to go

You can buy a 2TB NVME on sale for ~100-110$ USD.  Don't fall for the SATA trap.  (And almost any board will have 2 NVME slots.)

PSU:  Buy an 850+, since you plan to upgrade the GPU, or you're just throwing money out the window.
Check FB Marketplace, you can sometimes find GREAT deals on Corsair RM or EVGA Supernova PSUs there.  (and they have loooong warranties, esp if you can get a copy of the email reciept.)  But used or not, don't buy a 550 just to replace it.

Fans:  5 pack of Arctic P12 PWM PSTs or P14 PWM PSTs are the way to go.

Instead of the GTX 1660 TI you could get the RTX 3050 for a very similar price (at least I assume it's the same in the US) and you get features like DLSS which can give you extra performance without the loss of visual quality.

Xi Jinping loves LTT (trust me).

Everything I say is true, unless it's false.

Case: Thermaltake Versa H18

you have picked an mATX case and a ATX motherboard so the motherboard will not fit in the case

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3GH9H2

Here is a build thats under $1000 (just) and will have significanly better performance.

Monitor: the monitor that you picked is a TN panel, which is pretty much the worst type of panel you can still buy. there really isnt much point in a PC capable of running games at high settings and framerates if the monitor is going to make it look bad anyway. Ive put in a 1080p 165Hz IPS panel which will be a huge improvement and still fits inside your budget.

CPU: ive gone for the new 13400f which has the same core count as the 12600k but is both cheaper and faster

GPU: ive gone for the RX 6650xt which is a much more capable graphics card that should be able to hit tripple digit framerates at high settings in most games

Motherboard: ive gone for a B660 board since it has all the same features other than manual overclocking which the 13400f dosent support anyway

RAM: 16GB is still pleanty for gaming and still leaves the option to upgrade to 32GB in the future by just adding another 16GB kit in the other 2 RAM slots.

storage: as others have said, a single NVME SSD is the way to go. they are actually cheaper and faster than SATA SSDs. ive put in a 1TB drive but you could get a 2TB drive if you need more space (or you can start with 1TB and add another drive in the other m.2 slot in the future)

Power: ive gone for a decent 650w power supply which is more resonable for the 13400f+6650xt. its still not enough for a 3080ti but i douibt you will need a 3080ti over a 6650xt at 1080p becasue the 6650xt should be able to max out the monitors refresh rate in most games already.

Cooling: the case i have selected comes with 3 fans pre-installed which is all thet you need. you might want to get a better CPU cooler but the stock cooler is just about good enough so that is something else that you can upgrade down the line.

Case: the Zalman S2 is a much better case with good airflow thats actually big enough for the motherboard to fit inside

System: AMD R7 5700g (OC to 4.45GHz fixed clock) / Noctua NH-D15 / Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2 / Gigabyte Waterforce WB RTX 2080 Ti / Crucial 4x8GB DDR4 (OC to 3800MHz Cl16) / 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus / Corsair 4000D airflow / Corsair TX650M / BenQ Mobius EX2510 24.5" 1080p 144Hz
