As in title, i get random freezes on my pc, sometimes it blue screens, and the only thing that fixes it is a hard reset from power button. Sometimes it's once a day, sometimes multiple times per hour.

My specs:

  • OS:Windows 11 Pro 64 bit
  • MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-D3 rev. 3
  • CPU: AMD FX 6300
  • RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB DDR3-1866MHz (HX318C10FBK2/16) (Dual Channel)
  • GPU: Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti 2gb
  • PSU: BeQuiet Pure Power 11 600W
  • SSD: Samsung 860 Evo 500GB

What i have tried, with no results so far:

  • Clean install windows and upgrade to win11 (was running 10)
  • Tried a different PSU
  • Reseated ram, then changed the channels.
  • Ran chkdsk /f /r, and checked disc with samsung magician
  • Did a memory test from windows
  • Mainboard Beep code is fine

Also, checked the bios version, it's the newest, with an exception of a version from 2015 which is beta

UPDATE: Rolling back to windows 10 because as of yesterday, while trying to read the dump files, got stuck Ina kind of bootloop with HYPERVISOR ERROR and SYNTHETIC WATCHDOG TIMEOUT.

Also here's the event viewer from a time around a freeze.

When a BSOD is showing windows is creating a crash dump file that should be stored as c:\windows\memory.dmp or in folder c:\windows\minidump (depending in windows settings).

There is a post on How to Analyze Memory Dump Files (.dmp) in Windows 10 (helpdeskgeek.com) how to analyse a dump file that is created while a BSOD.

Maybe there are more than one dmp file in the folder c:\windows\minidump then you can check all the latest dump files and see if it is always the same driver or program that is causing the problem.

But even if you find the driver that is causing the problem your system is not officially support by windows 11. Your CPU is not in the supported CPU list. It will be very difficult to find new drivers and bios that support windows 11. With that hardware I would stay at windows 10.

thanks for the reply, i will check it out right now. As for windows, the problem existed for about 2 weeks before i upgraded to windows 11 so i don't think that's the issue
