My pc only boots sometimes

On my motherboard I have a ez debug led and often when I try to boot up my pc it says cpu error and wont post I then have to swop ram and after about 20 minutes it boots and posts when its on it works perfectly fine. I think the problem may be where I live I get 2 hour power cuts about 2-3 times a day. Yeah its super annoying.

 

Specs:

Ryzen 5 5500
Msi Rx 570
Msi b450m gaming plus Motherboard
16gb 3200mhz ram
Corsair cv550 Psu

What brand of memory are you using? I see it’s 16Gb of DDR4 3200, but who makes it?

 

Also, have you updated your BIOS?

@Harmsway1283 Bios is updated and I use 2 different brands of ram klevv and t force but both 8 gb 3200 and cl 16

Have you tried booting it with only one stick of memory? Do you still have to reseat it a bunch of times to get it to post?

 

Having 2 different brands “can” work fine, but it can also cause stability issues.

@Harmsway1283Yeah I just have to reseat alot sometimes boots on 1 sometimes 2

But im thinking it has to do with my power cuts because it just suddenly loses power and doesnt have time to save

Sudden power losses likely will not affect the post process. Your BIOS is installed in its own memory on a chip on the motherboard and gets power from the CMOS battery. BIOS’s can become corrupted. You could try updating the BIOS and checking your CMOS battery, it should read about 3-3.3V
