4070 speculations

I want to upgrade my gpu, i was thinking of the 4070. Is there any speculations on its performance?

I'm pretty sure there are no details available, and unfortunately my crystal ball broke yesterday.

 

But, here's a guess: It'll have ok performance, but be waaaaaay over-priced. You know, like every other card that currently exists.

the 4070 is probably a 3080 equivalent in performance since the 4070Ti is between the 3090 and 3090Ti, but honestly the price is always the worst side of these cards. Especially if they cut it down to 8GB on the same AD104 GPU which will drop the memory bus width to 128 bit.

Depending on how far down they cut both the core count and memory configuration I could see it range anywhere from a 3070 Ti to a 3080 12GB in performance.

 

It will likely be AD104 silicon cut-down from the 4070 Ti config. I doubt it will stay on 192-bit config and instead I could see them doing 10GB on 160-bit bus or 8GB on 128-bit bus.

 

The kicker? It will be $599-$699 is my guess.
