Hey guys,

So on Christmas Eve last Saturday I ordered my motherboard for my first PC build. Unfortunately I ordered it through Newegg since nobody else had stock.

Finally on Tuesday the 27th it said "Packaging" and stayed there until late Wednesday the 28th. Finally yesterday it said "Label Created - Waiting for Carrier Pickup"... and has stayed that way ever since.

The tracking# they give me they say is for UPS, but looks more like a USPS or FedEx one (doesn't start with "1Z"). UPS has no record of even a label created, USPS says they're waiting for the package, and FedEx has a weird no origin "in transit" with no destination or updates.

I contacted Newegg 2 times yesterday and once today. The 2 yesterday basically told me "its not delayed until its physically past the delivery date", and basically gave me a sassy "you'll get it when you get it" kind of reply. No, I didn't pay extra for rush shipping, because the "estimated delivery date" on both was today the 29th. The one today basically said my only recourse is to file a claim, which could take 1-2 weeks or more.

What should I do?

I'm honestly upset because I planned on putting it all together Saturday and spend my extended weekend setting it up and playing. I do not have a local PC store with an ITX LGA 1700 motherboard in stock, not even a crappy one.

I would cancel the order and buy a used one near my location.

Considering theres no used ones in my area that work with the parts and case I have, this isn't an option. Also, been scammed previously on used parts, so I don't feel comfortable buying used.

never buy from newegg?....

Doesn't really help me now?

Newegg was the only vendor with stock right now of this motherboard. Everyone else only had significantly more expensive variants instock.

Still waiting on my motherboard... it finally "moved" on the 30th... and arrived in my regional city on the 4th... but since is stuck. UPS says they handed it off to USPS, USPS says they don't have it. Both refuse to look into it as they don't show as having it.

This first PC build has been a nightmare.

What are you building?  Old parts that can't be found locally doesn't sound good

Escalate with UPS and USPS, they both have departments for this type of thing.

Its in my other thread. Its a Gigabyte Aorus Z690I Ultra Lite (rev1.0). Its a last gen, but not really available for as reasonable a price anywhere else.

USPS won't let me go through any of their tracking help things because they show as not having it received. UPS said its in USPS's hands, so they can't do anything about it. Newegg the other day pretty much told me "be patient".

I'm going to call them tonight and will follow up with what they say.

Yeah, you should have some proof (tracking, etc) of UPS having passed it on to someone.  That "should" help with USPS.  Obviously you're the one having to deal with them, so hope you can get some movement.

Both FedEx and UPS use the USPS as a way to get items to their final destination (SmartPost or SurePost). Likely something got lost in the switching of hands.

So it seems likely that the problem is the the USPS.

So update... just got off the phone with Newegg... and they told me its not their fault due to the holidays.

I call BS on the shipping taking 5 business days and still not being here from date it shipped, when my other packages I ordered same day that came UPS & USPS were here in 2 days once shipped.

I asked if they could ship another out NextDayAir, since a 3# package I know from personal experience is like $15, if you don't have a UPS deal like I bet they do. They told me they could file a claim that'd take 5-7 business days, and if they found it was missing/lost they could ship a new one out via USP Mail Innovations AGAIN.

So basically I was told "either just keep waiting, or wait another 2-3 weeks".

Screw Newegg. Crap Customer Service.

Just called USPS, and they say "we don't have it, UPS should be delivering to your local Post Office or Distribution Center for final delivery".

I then called UPS, and after talking to one rep who refused to help me because it was a 'UPS Mail Innovations' package, I got another rep. He told me that it shows if was delivered to USPS on 1/4/23 for final delivery.

So basically I'm stuck in a loop and without a motherboard for my $800 in other components of my first ever PC build.

UPDATE: I posted on Reddit, and Newegg's support, apparently a supervisor, put in a request to ship me a replacement via Next Day shipping so I'd have it Tuesday. Not the best outcome, best would've been getting it on time the first time. Just unreal how much work I had to go through, but atleast hopefully I'll be back on track come Tuesday.
