Probably a bit of a strange question but I gave my old RX 580 to my girlfriend but her very weird All in One type computer only has a DVI port to plug into the GPU. I tried looking online for a Display Port male to a DVI Female but I can only find ones with this type of receiver image.png.bfcfffae9038843708d6a0a686f35591.png the one she has is this image.png.112b1994aa0ebb5df7327cd3b9ab098d.png so my question is, if I bought the receiver with the 4 squares would it be compatible? Thanks, I'm fairly new to PC building and this one just has me stumped.

One of the reasons dvi was abandoned was it was a weird analog/digital transition system.  I don’t know if the 580 does full analog or not. It might. Not sure anyway there are a bunch of different dvi ports with letters to differentiate them.  That particular plug is dviD x2.  I suggest the dvi wiki entry for a full rundown.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I'll take a look at it, and yeah honestly I might just give up and get her PC recased and get her a new monitor. Seems like less of a hassle in the long run.

The first might not be possible with an all in one.  New monitors won’t do dvi (though you can get adaptors. Sometimes they are one way and sometimes they are expensive and require additional external power) and new GPUs don have DVI (though the 580 does.  It’s Polaris and a throwback to that era even though it is still being sold and supported)
