anyone else getting sick of these 8 month to 1 year refreshes ?

Id rather see a 30-50+% increase in performance on a 2 year refresh heck i might even be able to talk myself into buying one if they did that.

these 5-10% increases are tiring.

Intel are using the Activision/CoD business model.

You guys need to do you maths correctly. Intel refreshing processors is not uncommon as they get better making them. They charge the same and give you a better processor why complain? Also oem like new numbers on their laptops and desktops for retail and marketing reasons. None of that really applies to a informed buyer though. It is not at all like call of duty because with that you nearly have to upgrade as your basically abandoned when the new games comes out. Higher end processors on the other hand you can expect to last you 3+ years. Also its better for them to release new tech as they can work it in rather than holding for one big update. It makes them more money and you still get the same increase over the time period your speaking. Its not like nor making haswell would make broadwell as faster than ivy bridge. Plus half the tech they decide to use isnt usually mass production ready for some time. Its generally right around a 10% ipc increase since sandy bridge because were hitting issues with size and temp for that size. They way they have chosen to solve this is by lowering power consumption and thus heat.

Lastly the part about the haswell refresh that youll most likely be interested in is devils canyon since they are supposedly useing better tim and in general the are even better at ocing. Well that and the 20th anniversary pentium! ! !

If your really looking for a big boost and a new rig id wait for X99 at a minimum.
