Upgrading ram

Parkfire138

I currently am using 24gb of ddr4 2400mhz ram and was thinking of upgrading to 16gb of 3200mhz or 3600mhz I was just wondering if it was worth it. I mostly use my pc for gaming and browsing youtube, but I occasionally will host a minecraft server for me and my friends.

This is a good watch. What is your RAM usage when hosting a minecraft server and playing the game?

Ive got a 6600 and a 10400f currently

For an intel cpu the speed isnt really going to matter. But how much memory do u use when playing minecraft and hosting that server together.

I'll watch that video to get a better idea, but my ram usage is probably around 70-80% when I'm hosting a server

Hmm then you cant downgrade to 16 gb. If you want a perfomance gain go for a 16 gb 3600mhz x2 (total 32gb) ram in duel channel mode. You cant host mc server and play it on the same time with 16gb from the data you given if my math is correct you need anywhere from 17gb - 20 gb of ram. Dont mix and match ram that usually leads to a worse experiance

Then would it be a good idea to spend the extra 30 bucks for 32gbs instead of 16?
