Boards these days don't really help your performance.  Basically any board that has features you want is a safe bet.  Do you need lots of USB connectivity for peripherals?  Do you need Wi-Fi on board?  Do you need 10Gbit ethernet?  Compare and contrast features of boards to find one you need.  I'm partial to MSI boards myself, but plenty of people use Asus or Gigabyte boards as well.
