hi just to check all my boxs. could oyu boot it into bios mode and check if all the drives show up?

Hello, thank you for your response

- Also, I located the device in device manager after realizing another rookie mistake, figured out the device needed to be formatted (i guess?) and assigned a number. After running the wizard for this the drive is showing up properly in file explorer

Hello! I am fairly new to being hands on with computers and when attempting to do my first upgrade per say to my computer I made a serious beginner mistake. I took the sticker off the top of a samsung evo 970 evo plus.

I am using an alienware r11 that I got at the peak of the graphics card shortage, all because i was getting a 3080 at msrp. The MB that came with the computer only has one m.2 slot, so I purchased a sabrent NVMe M.2 to PCIe X16/X8/X4 card with a heat sink. I followed the instructions on installing the SSD to the sabrent card, then installed the sabrent card to the computer. I am not getting anything under file explorer for the new drive, nor is it showing in device manager.

Anyone have any ideas on where to start? I have removed the sabrent card from the pc, removed the ssd and then re installed it again to the same result as before.

Also; side note WTF samsung, if the sticker is going to void the warranty they should put do not remove. Am I crazy for thinking that?

You shouldn't remove the sticker generally, but it should be just fine. For next time, you can just put the heatsink on top of the sticker.

Yeah, that is what got me. The logical but not experienced part of me said, if it needs a heat sink it probably gets too hot for a sticker and I dont see it saying not to remove

Also, The issue was corrected just a second ago due to... another rookie mistake.

Few lessons learned, dont remove stickers and dont do upgrades after long days at work.
