Help needed Upgrading from A10 9700 to Ryzen 5 5600g.

I am trying to upgrade my CPU from A10 9700 to Ryzen 5 5600g. I currently have bios version 56..

The dots indicating more numbers I can't see because it won't post. I need bios version 6042 but the only cpu that will work is my old one. When I try upgrade to 6042 on my old one (which would cause it to stop working but I don't mind that) it says it's not a valid bios and doesn't match the bios ROM or something. Because the bios won't update past 56.. it's impossible to use my new cpu even though it is on my motherboards supported list. The motherboard is a ASUS PRIME A320M-R. Any help of how to overcome the error of not allowing me to update my bios and make the old cpu unusable would be great. Thanks

Are you sure you've downloaded the correct bios, that you haven't perhaps confused your motherboard model?

I'm 100% sure I have the correct one, I already upgraded it once from the same list but I just can't go any higher than the one where my old cpu is removed from support.

If the bios is correct and the board is just being retarded you can force flash and even crossflash bios via the spi header on your mobo without having to enter bios which also means being immune to bricked bios issues, just need a ch341a and some dupont male -> female jumper wires

Its located near the cmos battery under the text that says uefi bios, the header itself is unmarked, heres the pinout

If you are curious on crossflashing you can attempt to flash to a prime b350m-a to unlock oc as the board layouts are similar, risk free ofc since you can just reflash stock bios if no post, though focus on fixing your board first =p

Hey, I'm not the most advanced computer person, I've taken the time to read through what you said and follow the link and I'm not quite sure where to start, I have the correct new file but it refuses to accept it as a valid bios file, what would the first step be to getting it to accept my file? Thanks in advance

Basically just fuck all of that valid bios file garbage with the built in flash utility thats problably retarded and just externally flash with a bios programmer via the spi header, its not exactly hard since i do the same thing all the time although i havent messed with spi since all my bioses are socketed and if not with the age of the boards i work with either no spi header or unknown spi header pinout so straight to a bios test clip
