Hi, I was tricked into clicking on a link to blasze IP logger and then the person said they were going to shut down my internet then my internet went off for about 30 seconds then when it came back on they said "you like that?" So I was wondering if I just got hacked. BTW this happened on my android tablet so it might not affect anything else. Please help!

It is some child/moron using a UDP flooding script to block all traffic on your connection. The huge ammount of UDP packets stop TCP packets and other legitimate traffic from flowing down your over utilised link. It is simply is a DoS attack.

He likely sent you the link to get your IP from his web servers access log.

Get him to do it again and capture the attack using TCPdump. Then email the dump to his server host (abuse@chicagovps.net).

So how exactly would I fix it?

Lol u just got DDoS'd

Welcome to the internet

Login to your router and change the MAC address, then hard reset your router, quick and easy way to get a new IP

So how exactly would I fix it?

Ok thanks for the help!

Real quick, I messed up in my earlier post

you need to hard reset your modem, not your router. Hard Reseting your router will reset all its settings, hard reseting the MODEM, will generate a new IP from your ISP.

MY BAD

Also I can't change my MAC address with my current modem. Would just hard resetting the modem work?

I have an all in one modem and I can't find the option under Wi Fi to change the MAC address, I do see the MAC address though. This is the modem http://www.ebay.com/itm/Arris-TG862-Telephony-Wireless-Gateway-Modem-Docsis-3-0-COMCAST-XFINITY-/301167800388

Google says that gateway modem doesn't sport the MAC change/clone feature

Couple options here

1) You can call your ISP and request a new IP, just tell them you are being DDoS'd if they ask why. I haven't had much success doing this.

2) Disable the router portion of the gateway modem, I believe you do this by putting it in bridge mode. This turns the modem+router into just a modem. Then you would hook up a router and that alone should get you a new IP. Hopefully the router you connect has more features as well.

3) Do nothing, and hope the little kiddie has forgotten about you, and has lost your IP address

Just one of many reasons gateway modems suck

I will just leave it alone because nothing weird has happened since so maybe it was just to scare me. Thanks for your help!
