I was putting my new pc together, when I noticed that the CPU cooler mount didn't quite line up with the mounting holes on the MB. But I had already put in 2 of the clips to mount it. The intel mounting for the Thermaltake UX200 uses clips that expend on the other side of the MB mounting holes. I am wondering if there is any way to remove the cooler mounts without destroying the clips. Any help would be VERY appreciated.

Does it just use one of those plastic ring adapters with plastic clips? If so and it doesn't want to come off, just unclip the cooler, flip the board over and gently use your thumbnail to push on the bottom of the pushpin and pop it out.

If you have an LGA1700 board, I don't think the UX200 would work. Pretty sure it's LGA 115X/1200 only.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

I realized that after I had installed. The website that I had purchased the cooler from said that it was LGA 1200 supported, but on Thermaltake's website, it doesn't list it. I'll attach a photo of the mounting clips to give you a better idea of what I am working with. So, when you push in the clear clip, it sits on the other side of the MB, but can be removed with a bit of force. But to properly mount it, you have to use the black pins to expand the end of the clip, so it is more secure. But I can't seem to remove those from the clear clips. Because the only other thing I have found online is to actually destroy the end of the clips with clippers, which I am unsure about. Any ideas on removing?

LGA 1200 is identical to LGA 115X from a socket size/cooler mount standpoint. I've used a ton of coolers like that, and the answer is to take off the cooler, flip the board over, then use a thumbnail to slowly push the pin back out. Anyone who breaks one of those clips isn't being patient enough with it.

Alrighty then. Thank you so much
