hows bottleneck

xXAXONXx

hi, ok i know that if you have a powerful gpu and a weak cpu you will have bottleneck, but what about reverse, you have powerful cpu and weak gpu, bottleneck too?, is this really bad for gaming? do the gpu bottlenecks the cpus performance?, i have i7 4790k + gtx 750 ti 2 gb twin frozr + 2x8 gb ram ddr3 1866 (16gb). and how this affects in gaming?

Yes, you'll have a bottleneck.  You ALWAYS have a part holding back others .

You can mitigate this by playing at a resolution that plays to the stronger part.

Right now, you're fine for 1080p.   Bad for anything higher, your gpu is lacking.

Did you just get that machine?

That's one way to go about it.  Or get a better GPU.

That's a 9 year old computer.  It's hard to say how it will play a more modern Assassin creed game.  I would guess that you're GPU bound.

If you want to check it out, I would suggest the 6400xt for $150 plus two free games to double your graphics speed.  Keep it if it works.  Return it if it doesn't.

Is it bad to be gpu bound?  IDK.  Do you like leaving graphics speed on the table?  It's up to you.
