Soooo I have a old shitty computer but it's my htpc, I can play 4k video off of you tube but can play 4k movies when I download them?

I forget what my graphics card is now but I know I have a fx8350 with 32 gig of ram and a 1tb hard drive.

I judt bought a 1050 ti and hope I have no issues with 4k playback.

I'm just wondering why can I play it on YouTube with 50% effort from my processor according to task manager but I can't play them on vlc downloaded? I'm guessing utube is garbage compressed video so it's much easier to play?!?

Try googling tutorial or fix to 4k stuttering in vlc,

to give you direction, it might be because of hardware acceleration or codec or something.
