Arc GPU with 7700k?

I'm looking into getting an arc gpu to replace or complement the 1060 in my plex/stream/server machine, mainly for its encoding skillz.

 

Will an arc GPU work with the 7700k? I'm having trouble finding information regarding rebar and whatnot

Won't work well, due to 7th gen not supporting rebar.

It'll work, but since your 7700K (probably) doesn't have a board with Resizable BAR support, gaming performance would suck. 

 

If all you're planning on getting as something like an A380 and not using it for gaming, it should be fine.

ReBAR shouldn't affect the encoding, it only matters in games. Should be fine for just/mostly encoding work.

Thanks, everyone. My Mobo is an Asrock Z270 SuperCarrier. It's a beast but I don't think it has Resizable BAR

It doesnt. It doesnt matter much for encoding BUT arc is still unstablr and it shows this in every workflow so expect issues.

WTF is that supposed to prove?

Intel ARC needs REBAR/SAM support to function properly.  It's literally in the specs.  And Intel 100/200 series chipsets don't support support that technology.
