Looking for good value upgrade for 1080p 144Hz gaming

6600 seems to be 2x of 970, but 970 avg 35 fps meaning 6600 will get 70fps , would have to turn down settings very soon

3060 /ti are still above msrp

6700xt is great, but i already have 1 in my brothers pc

Or keep waiting for 4060, but unlikely it will be cheap

I am not sure what games you are planning on playing but I too upgraded from a GTX970 to a RTX3070 and even this thing cant get me 144hz in AAA games when you crank up the settings without enabling DLSS (even that doesnt cut in some piece of shit games like Cyberpunk).

You got a budget and a location where we can check the prices?
