I'm usually quite good with computers, however I am unable to fix my pc. It randomly resets and has fps issues in games like minecraft as well as the steam launcher just does not work at all, is only a blank grey window. Its not an issue with drivers as they are all up to date, and not a heat issue as my pc temps range from 30-60 deg. C. Hopefully someone here may have an answer as to why this is an issue and hopefully a fix for it as well.

specs are: intel core I7 11700k, DDR4 CL18 4x16gb 3600 corsair vengance rgb ram, Enermax 750w 80+ gold power supply, MSI MAG B560 TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR4 lga 1200 motherboard, Zotac Gaming Geforce RTX 3060 OC, 2tb w_d black M.2 ssd 2280, 2x 2tb 2.5" sata HDD, Sharkoon rgb slider full ATX case, Artic luiquid freezer 240 A-rgb AIO cooler and 3x Up here 120mm case fans.

When your PC is not overheating and all drivers are installed, I would consider doing a BIOS update, if a newer one is available (and any other type of firmware). If this does not fix it, I suspect a borked Windows installation and would give a full format a try.

But lets see what others have to say.

Go into the event viewer, under system and filter by Error, Warning and Critical. About the time of the crash there should be an error code. Could point in the direction of what's causing it.

If it's just a Kernal-Power message then you're probably going to be looking at a hardware problem.

- Reset the bios to default if any overclocks

- Update the bios if it's out of date

- Run MemTestx86

If all else fails, just something to think about, as I've seen this to be an issue on a number of systems. You might want to check your RAM's exact SKU against MSI's QVL for that board / processor combo. Ryzens are getting to be known for it (my daily gave me hell for months for this exact reason), but I think this could be a thing with Intel also. The following 3600 Corsair kits are recommended per the list:

CMR32GX4M4C3600C18

CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18

CMR64GX4M8X3600C18

CMK64GX4M2D3600C18

CMT32GX4M4K3600C16

CMK32GX4M4B3600C18

CMK64GX4M4B3600C18

CMK32GX4M4D3600C18

CMT128GX4M8X3600C18

CMK128GX4M8X3600C18

If you have issues with many other apps. say browser crashes out of the blue, with or without errors, might be a memory issue, but not necessarily.

For any purpose your PC functions, BIOS must be optimized, aka adjusted for the function it will perform and I do not recommend O.C..

Again, latest driver does not equal best driver, if game makers were not so lazy to fix their programs, we wouldn't need a new driver at all.

But with that said they do go corrupt and may need replacement once in a while.

First thing I would check, time consuming but necessary, is a thorough virus/spyware cleanup. Run RKill, Kaspersky's TDSS stand alone app, McAfee Stinger stand alone app., your favorite antivirus, Malware Bytes and SuperAntiSpyware. Some scans will be slow, run overnight and do not interrupt.

Then to fix some of the windows damaged files run Administrator Command: SFC /SCANNOW.

Update this post when you've done these.
