Speakers "static" when off

Go to solution Solved by jaslion,

Ooh the psu is coil whining. Nothing to fix that except sending it back

I bought a pair of cheap Logitech Z333 speakers and they're great for me except for they produce like a static sound when they're off.

It's not quiet it's actually quite loud it's like quite a high frequency kind of noise, I'm not sure static is the correct word here.

It doesn't matter if my PC is shutdown or sleeping it happens, there's a dedicated power button on the speakers but whether it's on or off it still happens. The speakers and PC are plugged in on the same extension board.

My solution so far is to use a smart plug and turn off the speakers every time I'm not using it from my phone, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience??

Also I'm not sure if this is something notable but when I turn off the power for the speakers it takes about 10 seconds for the noise to stop which makes me think it's power related?

well thank you, I don’t really understand it lol but I guess there’s really no other solution

Its basically some electronics vibrate when in use and sometimes that can br audible. This happrns often with cheap or very small parts. The z333s are in the cheap category and this happens often with them
