hi im having thermal problems with my msi 2080 and ever since ive gotten the card i have always just had msi afterburner to prioritize thermals but now i cant make afterburner prioritize temps anymore. when i click apply it just switches back to prioritize power limit. if i dont get the temp down my card keeps black screening when it goes up to 85-90C. i have tried everything i can think of but no luck

Simplest thing to do would be to uninstall/reinstall Afterburner (you don't mention if you tried this, or what else you have tried). Might also consider taking the card apart (if yer willing/able to) to help find out why the card is running so hot in the first place.
