I have 4 sticks of ram, they all work perfectly fine alone and in pairs, but when they all in together all hell breaks loose.

4 8gb sticks all same speed and latency, all 4 show up in bios and windows, but if I try to use more than 16gb out of the 32 I get bsods and out of memory errors and things like to crash and error out as soon as I hit the 16gb ram

Edit: memtest shows 0 errors on single, dual and quad config

How much RAM does your motherboard support? And what speeds are supported?

You need to check with your motherboards manufacturer to check, because often there are limitations imposed depending on the combination.

I would assume more than 32gb considering it's a b450 with a r5 5600x installed and ram is running at 2666

According to MSI's website, depending on the brand of memory, you MAY be limited to 16Gb. Go to:

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450-TOMAHAWK/support#mem to check compatibility.

The fact that the bios, windows and memtest sees all 32gb ram and memtest shows 0 errors when all 32gb is installed is leading me to believe that it's not being limited, also this is my board
