I just bought these parts for a new PC, and I plan on buying a 4080 next week when they release, do you think I will have any issue mounting the 4080 in the upright orientation in that Lian Li 011 Dynamic Evo? I already bought the mount and 600mm riser cable. i'm just concerned about the 12vpwr connector.

600mm? GodDAMN that’s a long riser cable- for future reference 200mm should be enough, 300mm being more than enough

You should be fine. Definitely put fans along the bottom of the case as intake, so that your GPU can get plenty of fresh air. However, why not buy the 7900xtx? It should be better for gaming than the 4080. AND it doesn’t have the issues with the 12vhpwr connector, seeing as it uses regular 8-pin cables.

The 7950x is way overkill for gaming and will provide literally no benefit over an 8 core (or a 6-core at the moment for that matter).  They're the same cores, and no game is ever gonna use that many.  The unused cores will just sit there doing nothing until they are replaced by faster cores in the future.

Same can be said for a $500 mobo, $200 RAM, and a $180 cooler, and $150 worth of CASE FANS (yikes!).

Realistically, you could spend less than a third of this, still get the same case for aesthetics, and the computer would run exactly the same.  Like no difference whatsoever.

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.

Money isn't the issue. I already bought the parts. just concerned about the 12vpwr connector and the CPU being in the upright position.

600mm is needed if you want to route the riser cable through the back of the case instead of just dangling in front like Linus was forced to do in the Upside down PC.
Also, I understand the new AMD will be better, but there's going to be a massive amount of problems on launch that I don't want to deal with, it's literally a new architecture, it's not the same as previous AMD cards, so there's going to be Very few games that will even run it, and I want the Raytracing power that will come with Nvidia.

ahh okay, I just chose a length for my riser (in the Cooler Master SL600M, the best tower case out there for vertical GPU mounting) that was short enough that it didn’t dangle, just long enough to hide behind the GPU and go directly to the slot without much length to spare

that isn’t true at all, every game that runs on a current card should run fine on the new AMD cards

fair enough, they say 7000 series should have better ray tracing than before and few people even notice the difference but you do you- whichever choice you make I’m sure you’ll have a good time gaming and that’s what’s most important.
