Cpu upgrade

I need help upgrading my Intel i5 4th gen for my gamming pc amd am looking for more updated processors any suggestions on what to replace with I'm not looking to replace motherboard just processr. That's my only bottle neck that I can find atm any help would be much appreciated

You have to replace the motherboard, otherwise you can’t have any “more updated” processors. The best processor that works in your motherboard is from the same generation, the i7-4790 (K model if you have a z87 or z97 motherboard)
