Busted soundcard?

iswedishleafs

I have just discovered that there is a really obtrusive buzzing sound whenever any audio source is playing. Yes, this is any audio source so I know the audio is not my problem. I have also tried different headphones and same issue occurs, so my headphones are not the problem. I have an MSI MPower motherboard, using the onboard audio. Is it possible that is the reason for my audio troubles. If so would buying a new sound card or DAC solve my issue?

            Thanks in advance.

No, i don't believe it is that as i have tried directly plugging it into the sound card and thrugh a throughput plug?(connect keyboard to sound card and connect headphones to keyboard for wire management)

oh so you've got nothing but onboard... uhh have you tried the jacks on your case? Do they give you the same buzzing sounds? If so it's most likely a motherboard issue, I don't know if buying another soundcard would resolve the problem.

It might be a stretch but try listening to something while in safemode, there's a really low possibility it could be some software issue.

I have always had this issue with onboard audio because onboard audio is subject to ALL kinds of interference, more likely interference from other things attached to your motherboard.

I found my only solution to the problem was to buy a soundcard. The first soundcard I bought was only £20 and got rid of all my problems, later on since I enjoyed the quality sound the soundcard gave me I upgraded it to a more expensive one which is now the Soundblaster Z which cost me around £80 (totally worth it!)
