I found some interesting m.2 ssd's on a second hand website they are the right form factor for the deck but these drives have seen quite a bit of usage.

Western digital 512gb

Functioning hours 2621

Number of starts 690

Price $33

2. SK hynix 512gb

Functioning hours 574

Number of starts 2554

Price $35

The seller is willing to sell both for around 60. Would they be worth it? Considering the price of such a small form factor new 512gb drive is almost half the price of the steam deck itself. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hours mean nothing. NAND fails after certain amount of data is written. Ask the seller for life% left or TB written. If they don't want to tell you it means it's low, since it's next to number of starts or functioning hours in SMART information.

Thanks for the response, I will ask the seller.
