HDMI Audio auto switch

Hello, I am having some issues with my pc auto switching audio sources when I switch inputs on my tv. The pc is a dell optiplex 7010 USFF and has an internal speaker. When I switch inputs on my tv it switches to the internal speaker. I have completely disabled the internal speaker so when I switch inputs the audio just craps out completely, it won't let me switch back to hdmi audio. I have to restart the PC everytime to get hdmi audio working again. Is there any way to get the audio source from auto switching?

What exactly do you mean it doesn't let you switch back, does the HDMI audio option disappear completely?

Yes, the option is no longer available, it does not show up until I restart the pc.
