Mac halp?

So normally i HATE mac's (still do), but to do a hackintosh later, my dad brought home a mac mini 2009.

It is compatible with Mavericks btw

So my issue is that every time i try clean installing snow leopard (dont know password to the one already there) it tells me to restart after installation, and after restarting, it just goes to the old one! And i tried again while holding down 'C', and it restarted the installation process!

any help?

You need to format the hard drive, so before yo u start the installer, you need to go up to the utilities tab, on the menu bar, and select Disk Utility, format the hard drive with OS X Extended (journaled), and then run the installer.

So i do that in the installation menu, or in the current os?
