What type of setup do I need for 7(!) different zones in a house?

Maveee

Friend of mine is renovating a house and he already put red and black speaker wire everywhere.

Now he wants to have 6 different zones indoor and 1 outdoor. What's the most ideal system for this? He is by no means an audiophile.

Thanks in advance for any help!

If he only wants 1 zone to be active at a time he can add a rotary switch to the computers output and connect the speakers to it.

Of course this means that any time he wants to change zones he'll have to go back to the computer.

Multiple zones need to be active simultaneously unfortunately.

What do you mean with "a normal switcher box"? Ideally you'd walk into a room and select the room on your phone to play audio from.

oh I should have asked , did they need the system to stay working or is it meant to be temporary?

Sonos would be simplest then, just chuck a Sonos Amp in each room, it'll handle inputs and powering the speakers.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)
