9700k oc question

Go to solution Solved by Ebony Falcon,

It’s called v droop, in bios set it one from max then lower ur overall voltage so it maxed at 1.38 or whatever your stable at

lower the better

what temps are u hitting ?

I have a 9700k with a 420 Arctic aio slapped on it so cooling isn’t my inquiry today but my voltages seem iffy. Most of the time under load such as prime 95 I get around 1.38v at 5.1ghz but when starting and stopping the test I get 1.416 volts.  Is there any way to stop this? Is it safe? I use an auto voltage because temps aren’t much of a concern to me but I’ve heard anything over 1.4v is bad but I’m not sure if it’s for prolonged use or just for spikes any help is appreciated thx! EDIT 1.488v MAX should I just run a static voltage of 1.39v it seems to work

If you don't need it to drop down under idle, yeah just lock in a static voltage.
