Help with laptop camera issues

I have a laptop that the screen went bad, so I took the whole top screen off. In doing so I failed to recognize that the display cable and the webcam/microphone cable were attached and going into the same port in the laptop. I put it back in, but it just doesn't seem to work anymore. I've tried moving it multiple times to see if I can get it to work but to no avail it still needs fixing. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
