Hey all, I'm planning on getting either a Radeon 6600 or 6600XT for my computer, but I'm wondering if a) I'll need extra cooling and b) what a good fan configuration will be for my case.

Currently I've got a Ryzen 5 5600G CPU and a 650 W PSU in an H510 case, not the flow, the older model. It has two case fans -- a rear and a top exhaust, but not much in the way of intake and no obvious (to me) places to put an intake fan.

Maybe I'm just overthinking.

My memory is the old 510 actually cools the gpu from the rear via negative pressure and the front fans don’t actually do much, so I suspect no changes.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Will be fine. The h510 works on the negative pressure airflow, that is why it has 2 exhausts and zero intakes.

The temps will be fine with any radeon 6000 series gpu as they are really power efficient, for example the new Intel a770 that has the same performance as 6600XT uses more power than a R6800XT.

So you dont need to worry about cooling at all.

EDIT: @Bombastinator beat me to it with the negative pressure.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Sweet. Thanks!

If you really want to go hard at the thing you can seal the seams with electrical tape and put filters over the grillwork to force any incoming air through the filters so they will catch the dust. Negative pressure has a rep for less dust but it collects in weird places like corners and seams because unless it’s air tight it’s a vent.  Becomes a question of if it’s worth it to do the work now or just clean it occasionally.
