HI, i have this laptop with Killer E2400 Gigabit Ethernet Controller service built in.
and for these couple of day's my upload speed drop significantly from what it used too. (For ref: I got 100mbps upload from my isp. but now only got 3mbps upload speed)

i suspect its Killer E2400 Gigabit Ethernet Controller doing. since I got same problem before with my download speed while my upload speed was good
for download problem I try to uninstall the Killer network manager. (This program can be used to limits your download and upload speed). it works fine since.

But i got this new trouble with my upload speed. and since I uninstalled the manager program I can no longer to adjust my upload speed if that's the case.

What i did so far:

i tried to shut off "killer network service" its work for a while but it become worst overtime.

- tried to roll back Killer E2400 Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver it did nothing

- enter safe mode with networking to test speed and nothing change

- Speed test on my phone but i found nothing wrong with it. (Both download and upload is fine)

- Speed test on Wi-Fi also got almost same result

- Reset the Network Stack using the following Commands: ipconfig /release -> ipconfig /flushdns -> ipconfig /renew -> netsh int ip reset -> netsh winsock reset (followed by restart)

- Tried to update windows but nothing changes

Speed test (ookla)
With ethernet cable: Killer E2400 Gigabit Ethernet Controller

- Ping: 39
- Download: 97mbps
- Upload: 2.89 - 3mbps

With Wifi: Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168

- ping: 42

- Download: 42mbps

- Upload: 2.67mbps

is there anything i can do to fix this? or can i change or add other ethernet network driver on my laptop?

Nvm.  Thought that one through and it didn’t work.  It seems I have no constructive thoughts on this one, I merely thought I did for long enough to put up a post 😕 it would have to be LAN side.  Maybe someone set a chair down on a cable or something? Some cable can be affected by things like bends.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I just tried to change my LAN cable + changing router port just now. but still same result when I tested.

That would mean it’s not the port. I hope it’s not the chip.

* Update: Upload speed back to normal by itself
i don't do anything to fix anymore after yesterday post.
right know i still have no clue what's going on.

Did anything update?  If not it could be an environmental thing.  Some neighbor had just the right kind of wifi to screw with your intel chip.

isn't that a intel thing?

you might wanna go with the Intel driver and not the Killer Driver.

you wanna check your laptop manufactor homepage

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite,  Ryzen 9 3900x, Dark Rock Pro 4, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix  RGB 3600 MHz CL16 RAM, RTX 3080 TI FE Watercooled, 6 Case Fans,  Fractal Design Meshify S2

You are awesome, stay safe and healthy.

not that I'm aware of, no. last time i doing windows update is before i open this thread. also not sure about environmental thing. because i try to speed test on my phone and the result was normal (it was like: Download: 70'ish mbps and upload: 80mbps) but my laptop using ethernet cable was only 3mbps on same router / connection.

i tried look up for factory driver on MSI site.
and when i install the killer driver i got error message and couldn't proceed for some reason.
idk if because i only remove "Killer control center" program and leave the other "killer service" alone or something else (i attach pic of other "service" for reference)

My guess is something specific to the way that Intel chip happens to work, either with a neighbor who’s own wifi was interfering, or your ISP.  Computers aren’t magic.  Things don’t just happen. Unless something was done to the machine either by you or through some sort of update the computer itself wouldn’t alter its behavior.  If nothing changed in tha machine it has to be outside the machine, so neighbor or isp.  There is still the home wireless access point I guess.  If that is owned by the isp or is even the same model as the ones they own, they might have pushed an update to it.  Still isp though.  It could also be that it was environmental the whole time and someone moved an antique coffee cup or something that was through high weirdness blocking the signal.

in which I ramble about antique pottery and heavy metals

Spoiler

Glazes on antique ceramics can be made out of extremely weird things.  Lots of heavy metals for one.  The reason cobalt glass is called cobalt glass is it used to be made with cobalt (and will slowly poison you if you drink out of them)  Beautiful extremely bright blue color.  Cobalt and cyanide both make some of the best blue colors .  Cyanide is called Prussic acid in painting and used to be a major ingredient in Prussian blue. Yay.  Some antique glazes are even radio active.
