Rip motherboard?

Hello everyone!

Turned on my pc today and got the bios message: "Over current have been detected on your USB device!! System will shutdown after 15 seconds to protect your mainboard."

Unplugged all usb devices and the problem still happened.

After unplugging the USB 3.0 cable from the MB I was surprised by a broken pin (see uploded pic).

A single broken USB pin really killed my Motherboard?!?!

Any way to fix this issue?

Overcurrent would be from the PSU no? Not sure if a USB header pin snapping would cause that. If you think the PSU is fine then try powering it on with the 3.0 cable left unplugged and see if it runs fine.

EDIT: Misread a bit, if it was just overcurrent on the USB device, could be that pin, or something just asking for more power than the USB header can provide.

It might fix it if you just abandon that header, but if it doesn’t it might really be dead

Mine says the same thing every other year or so. Turns out I just needed to disable the thunderbolt header.
