Hello, I am hoping to find support here.

so I wondering if my motherboard is just completely dead. It’s a z370-s01 m-atx.

I have tryed powering it on, but no response from the system. not even a led light up  or fan spin.

It is a shame the motherboard looks so clean, however after closer inspection of the cpu bay pins. I noticed one single pin missing from the upper left corner area…

now I am wondering if the motherboards not responding because of that or if the bios is blocking its start up due to cpu compatibility issues. For example, does the bios only support i3-8100, i5-8400, or i7-8700?

I am using an i5-8500.

so question, even if there is a cpu compatibility problem or one missing pin, should the system at

least run electricity through it and power on leds and fans?

i am getting nothing.  it dead? Or is it a cpu compatibility issue?

I have tested the basic operation components cpu, ram in other motherboards and they boot fine.

Check your PSU. Does that turn on at all?

If a pin is missing, that is probably the cause. Can you show us a photo of your socket?

PSU is go tested and tried, several systems.

the motherboard cpu bay pin is missing. It is hard to find. Or see. It is just one.

would that prevent an power to be sent to the rest of the other components such as, led error indicators, and fan headers to power fans for power up? Seems quite dead maybe it was shorted and the seller has duped me?

Or could it be the cpu compatibility issue?

I don't think there should be any compatibility issues, the 8500 is compatible with the board.
