Hello 🙂

I bought a refurbished HP probook x360 435 g8 for uni and now recently decided to do some light gaming on it in my free time,  mainly some older games like the Witcher 2 and Fallout 3. However, I've noticed that the frame rates I've been getting have been way lower than they should be based off of reports I've found. For example, Witcher 2 ran at 40 fps at 720p lowest settings, while I've seen benchmarks of the Witcher 3 at 50 fps at 1080p low/medium. Likewise, fallout 3 would struggle to maintain 60 at 1080p high.

I am plugged in at the wall and have turned the windows power settings to performance, but it didn't make much of a difference at all. Also, the laptop does not appear to be Thermal Throttling. Looking for any suggestions.

Thanks

Specs:

Ryzen 7 5850u

16gb Ram (Single Stick)

Edit: I assume it might be some sort of weird bios power limit setting, but because it is a business orientated laptop and I bought it refurbished there is a password blocking bios access which I apparantly have to contact Hp to remove, which I am trying to do.

Get another stick for dual channel mode and you'll see a performance uplift for the iGPU performance.
