When will virtual reality become the normal my thoughts of company's who might do this are

Oculus (obviously)

Razer (a tweet hint)

Sony (they revealed it)

Logitech (from such good webcams they have to do something)

Corsair (they seem to do everything pc related)

I want to know when you think virtual reality will become the normal and what it will be like

Think when Oculus gets the first Rift consumer version out, there will be a big boom obviously. So Mid 2015? Still not got too much to go with release date.

PS4 and Morpheous will help push the reach of VR past the PC enthusiast crowd and into the console market too, growing its popularity/market larger again.

When phones and laptops are powerful enough that you can pop a Rift on whilst say flying and watch a film on IMAX screen instead of a tiny screen on the seat infront, I think that will help for more mainstream adoption.

Really, mainstream adoption is going to be hindered by two things. Getting the average consumers hardware upto scratch for a decent experience, and there being content out there for everyone to use, not just games, but experiences, utilities, that killer app that everyone wants to use.
