Okay I'll admit I've completely lost all hope of actually fixing this issue:

Basically whenever I open any game that changes the resolution at launch I.E. Dark souls 3, Nier Automata ETC. my PC will completely freeze (images on monitor stay but no input works) however audio will still play (Discord). The only way to escape this is to hard reboot my PC by holding power for 10secs.

I've tried updating every driver I could possibly think of but nothing has worked yet, I was hoping the more intricate minds here could give me any insight as to what's going wrong here, cause I can't play these games at all...

(EDIT, Sometimes Audio will continue to play, other times it won't)
